As a native of Pittsburgh, Dr. Boehme is a lifelong sports fan of the Steelers, Pirates, and Penguins as you will see on a wall when you visit our office.
Dr. Boehme completed his undergrad studies at Washington and Jefferson College, then attended Pennsylvania College of Optometry in Philadelphia completing eight years of study. Dr. Boehme completed his residency at Fort Howard VA Medical Center in Baltimore MD before returning back to Pittsburgh.
Dr. Boehme, and his wife Daneen (who is very active in the office), have always been life long residents of the South Hills of Pittsburgh; Jeff graduating from Bethel Park High School in 1980 and Daneen graduating from Baldwin in 1982. Jeff and Daneen have four kids: David (Optometrist), Kaylee (Trauma Nurse), Victoria (Marketing and Event Coordinator), and Daniel who still attends Penn State Erie, the Behrend College.
In 1991 Allegheny Vision Associates was born with the idea of providing more thorough eye exams with better trained doctors and a larger selection of quality products. In 1998 Dr. Boehme bought, remodeled and expanded our current location. In 2016, A full service optical lab was installed, this allows us to provide faster service while giving our patients less expensive and better quality products.
When not seeing patients, or participating in community events, you might find Dr. Boehme at the baseball field, rooting on Pittsburgh sports teams, enjoying local wineries, or working on home improvement projects.
